The ROCORI Baseball team will recognize one of the most accomplished teams in program history when it holds its annual Alumni Night on May 9 at the Cold Spring Baseball Park.

ROCORI plays host to Monticello on May 9 in Cold Spring, with JV beginning at 4:30 p.m. and varsity taking the field at 7 p.m. in nonconference action. The entire evening will be Alumni Night, where all ROCORI Baseball players receive free admission and a free burger during the game.

But this year, the Spartans are also recognizing and celebrating the 15-year reunion of one of its most accomplished teams ever — the 2010 state championship team.

"This 2010 team, along with the 1992 state championship team, will forever be known as one of the most accomplished teams in program history," ROCORI head coach Jeff Illies said. "Not only did they accomplish a lot on the field, individually and as a team, but they are top-notch men who continue to support the ROCORI Baseball program."

The ceremony will begin on the field between the JV and varsity games, starting around 6:30 p.m. It will begin with player introductions followed by each player receiving a special presentation and capped by the ceremonial first pitch by a member of the 2010 team.

"We are excited to honor and recognize this 2010 team during a milestone year," Illies added. "We look forward to celebrating what they have done and how they continue to pave the way — along with many others throughout history — for the present and future Spartans players."

Following the games, a celebration will be held for all players and fans at the Side Bar & Grill in Cold Spring.
