ROCORI Rounds Out Regular Season With Pair Of Wins
COLD SPRING — The ROCORI Spartans hosted not one but two different opponents to round out the 2024 regular season on Wednesday, May 22 at the Cold Spring Baseball Park.
ROCORI began the evening by topping St. Francis 11-1 in five innings, later topping Sartell 6-2 in a game that resumed in the fifth inning from a weather-delayed game back on April 30.
In the win over St. Francis, ROCORI broke the game wide open in the third inning, plating five innings followed by four more runs in the fourth inning en route to a 10-run rule victory.
Jace Griffin went 2-for-3 with two RBI, Tyler Prom went 2-for-2 with two walks and three runs scored, and Jacob Stalboerger went 2-for-4 to boost the Spartans. Hunter Fuchs went 1-for-2 with two runs scored and one RBI, and Jack Boos, Max Fredin and Jared Laudenbach each added one hit and one RBI for ROCORI.
Stalboerger was stellar on the mound en route to a complete-game win, giving up just three hits, one run, one walk and striking out eight over five innings of work.
Against Sartell, ROCORI was led by Zander Folkerts, who went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and one RBI. Jack Boos, Tyler Prom and Hunter Fuchs each added one hit and one RBI for the Spartans.
Fuchs pitched the first four innings of the game back on April 30, earning the win after giving up just four hits, two runs, two walks and striking out two. In the resumed game, Rausch threw the final three innings, giving up just one hit, no runs, no walks and striking out one.
With the pair of victories to conclude the regular season, ROCORI finishes with an overall record of 11-9. Next up for the Spartans is the start of the Section 8-3A Playoffs, which kick off on May 28. Find the complete section bracket here.
