ROCORI Offense Explodes In 18-8 Win Over Delano
COLD SPRING -- The ROCORI Spartans baseball team put on an offensive showing that saw runs scored in every inning against the Delano Tigers on Tuesday, May 24 in Cold Spring.
By the end of the game, ROCORI finished with 18 runs on 13 hits to route Delano 18-8 in a nonconference showdown at the Cold Spring Baseball Park.
The Spartans kicked off the scoring in the first inning, tallying three runs in the first inning and three more in the second frame to jump out in front early. ROCORI added one run in the third inning, three in the fourth frame and four runs in each of the fifth and sixth innings to total a season-high 18 runs.
Cole Fuchs went 3-for-4 with four RBI and three runs scored, Beck Loesch and Joel Sowada had two hits, two RBI and two runs scored each, and Thad Lieser added one hit, one run scored and two RBI to lead ROCORI at the plate. Jack Spanier, Brady Blattner, Peyton Randall and Chandler Dumonceaux all added one hit and one RBI for the Spartans.
On the mound, Blattner threw all six innings for ROCORI to grab the complete-game victory. With the win, he improved to 5-0 in seven starts this season.
With the nonconference victory over Delano, the Spartans improve to 10-7 overall on the season. ROCORI returns to action on Wednesday, May 25 when it hosts Brainerd in a Central Lakes Conference battle at 5 p.m. at the Cold Spring Baseball Park.
