ROCORI Wraps Up Road Schedule With Win Over Warriors
BRAINERD -- The ROCORI Spartans baseball team wrapped up the 2019 regular season road schedule with a win over the Brainerd Warriors on Tuesday night.
The Spartans took down the Warriors on Tuesday at Brainerd High School, coming away with a 5-1 victory in Central Lakes Conference action.
ROCORI jumped out to an early lead in the game with scoring three runs in the top of the third inning while adding two more in the top of the fourth to gain a 5-0 lead midway through the game. Brainerd scored one run in the bottom half of the fifth, but that's all it was able to manage in the game.
Brady Linn went 2-for-3 with a triple, two runs scored and one RBI, Nolan Notch went 1-for-4 with a double and one run scored and two RBI and Jack Steil went 2-for-4 with a double, one run scored and one RBI to lead the Spartans.
Brady Klehr finished 2-for-4 with one RBI and Dylan Rausch and Rudy Notch each added one hit a piece for ROCORI.
Nolan Notch earned a complete-game win on the mound for the Spartans. He gave up five hits, one run, three walks and struck out six in seven innings of work.
With the win, ROCORI improves to 7-5 in Central Lakes Conference action and 9-9 overall on the season. Next up for the Spartans is a conference showdown against Sauk Rapids at 5 p.m. Thursday at the Cold Spring Baseball Park in the regular season finale.
