Rocori Takes Down Alexandria to Continue Hot Start
FARMING -- The Rocori Spartans Baseball team cruised past Alexandria on Thursday night to secure it's sixth win of the young season.
Rocori took down its fellow Central Lakes Conference opponent by a score of 7-2 back at Farming Baseball Field.
The Spartans were highlighted at the plate by Mason Primus, who finished 2-for-3 with a home run and one RBI.
Tylor Schroeder went 2-for-2 with two runs scored and one RBI, Jack Steil went 1-for-3 with one run scored and one RBI, Dalton Thelen went 1-for-4 with one run scored and one RBI, Brock Leither finished 1-for-1 with one RBI and Matthew Waletzko went 2-for-3 for Rocori.
Eli Emerson put on a show on the mound to help shut down Alexandria, earning a complete-game win. In seven innings of work, he gave up five hits, two unearned runs, two walks and struck out eight.
With the win, Rocori remains in first place in the Central Lakes Conference, improving to 6-1 in conference play and 6-1 overall on the season.
Next up for the Spartans is a nonconference game over the weekend, as they hit the road to take on Academy of Holy Angels at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Donaldson Park.
