Rocori Blows Past Tech at SJU


COLLEGEVILLE -- The Rocori Spartans baseball team blew past St. Cloud Tech on Wednesday night back at St. John's University.

Rocori's offense exploded early and often in the Central Lakes Conference contest, taking down Tech by a score of 13-3.

The Spartans kicked off the game by tallying two quick runs in the top of the first inning. They then followed that up with five runs in the second inning, three runs in the third inning, one in the sixth and two more in the seventh en route to the victory.

Brandon Gill went 3-for-5 with a triple and four RBI and Dalton Thelen went 2-for-2 with three runs scored and two RBI to lead Rocori at the plate. Mason Primus added one hit and two RBI and Dylan TeBrake finished with one RBI.

TeBrake took the game over on the mound for the Spartans, pitching the first four innings to get the win. He gave up one hit, one unearned run, one walk and struck out eight.

Thomas Friesen took the loss for Tech, giving up three hits, six runs and three walks in 1.1 innings. for the Tigers (0-1 Central Lakes, 0-1 overall).

With the win, Rocori remains undefeated on the season, improving to 2-0 in the Central Lakes Conference and 2-0 overall.

Next up for the Spartans will be a Central Lakes Conference doubleheader with Fergus Falls on Saturday in Richmond. The first game will start at 1 p.m., with the second game to follow.
